God is Healing Today

Is there anything in your life that strikes you as urgent? I entered the word urgent in my
Bible app last week to see what God might say about the word urgent or where it is in
the Word. This is the verse that I want to share with you today along with some thoughts
and a prayer:

“And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now
our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.” Romans 13:11 (NKJV)
The context of this verse, in part, is when we first believed. Do you remember when you
first believed Jesus is who He says He is? Did you literally come alive in that moment?
Do you recall the sensations of Love and Connection to God that surely manifested in
the moment Jesus Christ of Nazareth touched your heart revealing His Love for you is
real and meaningful for your life now and forever? In this moment you can live that
moment. Jesus delights in the nearness of you with Him. And maybe the times in
between have filled with life matters such that you (like me) have been “asleep” or
maybe “sleep walking” through life. Or, even more serious: life events have drawn you
to doubt.

Hear Jesus saying to us who are “sleeping” : “high time to awake”! And so it is, because
our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. I am taking this to heart. No more
giving circumstances and man-made persuasions the attention neither deserves, with
God’s help. Hear this call to wake up and see Jesus for who He is and focus on Him
and what He wants. Our time on earth is less than it was, and will come to an end
sooner than we think. We are to be about His work.

Believe. Praise Him. Listen. Obey. Believe what? Believe on His name (receive Him)
and praise Him for giving us the right to become children of God “born not of blood, nor
of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God”. (John 1:12-13) Claim your
right! Listen: He has a Word for you now and always. We are not to live this life alone or
uninformed by Him. And in the simplest terms obey what He says.

Have you not heard Him? It is in the intimacy of the relationship which opened up when
you first believed. Go there now and He will hear you and you will hear Him. In this
intimacy we can know that He hears us “And if we know He hears us, whatever we ask,
we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” 1 John 5:15 (NKJV)
Obey: Obey Him when He says; “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every
creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe
will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will
cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents;, and if
they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick,
and they will recover.” Mark 16: 15-18 (NKJV)

Believers it is time to wake up and know our salvation is nearer that when we first
believed. God is healing today. He hears our prayers interceding for those whom we
love, and they recover. He is causing healing as people desperately seek help and he
hears their cries. And He is healing as believers lay hands on the sick. Jesus says
“come follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” (Mark 1:17) He did then
and as the One who is the same yesterday, as today and is tomorrow, He is still the One
to follow and if we let Him show us and obey, the most amazing adventure of Life
Everlasting opens for us NOW. Will I? Will you? I love you Jesus and I want to follow
you. Thank you for this most amazing invitation to follow you. Thank you for the
adventure of LIFE.

A final word for now: Are you distracted by all the evil you see in the world? If so, then
read and chew on this Word: “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee
from you.” James 4:7 (NKJV). I submit this prayer: Thank you Jesus for being Word is
Alive. You call us to wake up and Live Life with You as You ordain. Thank you for loving
us so that You sent us Holy Spirit with Power, Love and Sound mind, always pointing us
to You Jesus for us to go in confidence and with assurance. He is our Helper. And
thank you for giving us commission to go and do as you did and still do – indeed we see
people healed and made whole, and we see evil in plain view - more so now because,
as we believe and more people believe, the devil has fewer places to hide. Come
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, let there be Kingdom Come, Thy will be done on earth as it
is in heaven. Amen
