Looking For Redemption?

3/11/2025

God is Healing Today
Thy Word Heals and Makes Whole

(Proverbs 4:22)

“And coming in that instant she gave thanks to the LORD, and spoke of Him to
all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem” (Luke 2:38)
Looking for redemption?

Throughout our lives, do we look for a way out of the trouble we get into? Who can help us
when we can’t help ourselves? We look to get bailed out.

People came to Jerusalem “...to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of the
LORD, ‘A pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.’” (Luke 2:24) This was Joseph and Mary
at the appointed time for their first born male who opened the womb and to be called holy
to the LORD according to the law. Offering a sacrifice, in this instance a thank offering.

And the word of God came to John (the Baptist) who began preaching a baptism of
repentance for the remission of sins, as it is written in the words of Isaiah. And the
multitudes came out to where John was to be baptized. To flee from the wrath of God.
(Luke Chapter 3)

A shift – a seismic shift from what was, transitioning to what can be in the offering by God -
true and lasting salvation for our sake. Repentance away from the guilt and shame violators
of the law carry unless and until the sentence is met – the price that must be paid is paid.

John makes it clear he is pointing to another more excellent way. Pointing to the One worthy
of turning to. The One and only One who can and does truly redeem. He points to the One
the first born male called Holy One Who Saves, anointed and Perfect in every Way. Jesus
Christ.

Jesus Christ.

"So he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus,
to do for Him according to the custom of the law, he took Him up in his arms and blessed
God and said: “Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, according to Your
word; For my eyes have seen Your salvation which You have prepared before the face of all
peoples, a light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel.”
(Luke 2: 27- 32)

Jesus Christ, our salvation. The One who redeems, the repentant(s) – all who hear and
believe, all who see and declare, Gentile and Jew alike; that Jesus is who He says He is,
who those the Spirit fell upon witnessed to; even when He was just a Babe.

I looked for redemption my whole life. Thank you God, bless You God, for having brought
me to the Cross of Jesus Christ – where I was, once and for all time, redeemed by His Blood
poured out; a Living Sacrifice, not just for me, but for every person; Saved and then Washed
Clean by His Blood. Made righteous in the Father’s sight and called beloved as is Jesus
Christ, the Righteous, the Holy One of God – Beloved and given for our sake. Redeemed
and given revelation of resurrection now and soon ascension.

Healed and made whole.
Redeemed.
Thank you, Jesus!
